Editorial Review
Amazon.co.uk
The Bosch hedge cutter delivered a great cut. The 60cm blade length makes cutting easy. What I also liked about this was the strength of the cut. It was able to cut through branches that were at least 2 to 3cm in diameter.

Clearly this product has been designed with the end user in mind. I was always thinking of buying a more expensive petrol version for my large garden, but with a good extension lead, this is just the job. Overall I would say that this product is very effective and well thought through. --James Leeson- Amazon.co.uk

Purchased a Flymo 600XT hedge trimmer 9 months previous, ( not from Amazon ) used a few times by my husband, it was nothing but trouble and eventualy finished up in the bin. Absolute rubbish would only cut very thin shoots then jam.

Decided to purchase the Bosh AHS6000 pro T Hedgecutter after recomendation by a friend. It as prooved to be an excellent tool and will cut anything including Leylandi very easily.

It is easy to use and handle and was a good price through from Amazon, plus next day delivery.

Excellent tool. Powerful. The best part is the moulded hand guard. Not a flimsey screw on guard.

Yes, it's quite heavy, about the same weight as the rifle I had to lug around 65 years ago,but so well ballanced that although
I'm in my mid eighties, I didn't find it too tiring to use. I cut a very long laurel nine foot high hedge, down to a managerable
7 foot, in an afternoon,I am no keep-fit fanatic but because it cuts so fast, and never jams, I finished so much quicker. It is
by far the best hedge cutter I have ever used. I was replacing a smaller Bosch machine. I can't fault it other than to say I would
have liked the cable to be a bit longer.

I bought this to replace a faulty Ryobi (lasted just under an hour), that replaced an old McCulloch Tivoli 65.

It has a huge 700mm blade, with an enormous 34mm cutting capacity that is also very sharp. The body of the hedge cutter is also quite long, which helps with the balance. Although the unit weighs 4.2 Kg, it doesn't really feel all that heavy. It feels lighter than the Ryobi, which is supposed to be lighter and because of the super sharp blade, less time is needed actually cutting anyway.

I was a little apprehensive, going back to an electric hedge cutter, after using a petrol machine and especially after my experience with the Ryobi. However, my fears were soon blown away after just ten minutes with this beauty.

A word of warning though. If you are used to using an old, blunt hedge cutter, then I recommend practising with this on, say a part of the hedge that is less on show. This machine is quite unforgiving, in as much as wherever you direct the moving blade, it will cut! As a result, I now have a lot of brown hedging, totally devoid of any green leaves and even 'see through' in places!!! That is of course, probably the result of my own over enthusiasm, but you need to be aware of just how efficient this machine actually is. Older, smaller machines will give you warning by just refusing to cut anything of any substance. This one carries on regardless, putting you firmly in control of when to stop!

From a safety point of view, when either of the two operating switches are released, the cutters stop in a fraction of a second (the motor stops shortly afterwards). It's as safe as it can be in this respect. The overall feel, the balance, the low vibration, the length and sharpness of the blade, makes this an excellent tool. A nice touch is the included belt clip that helps the cable to be kept away from the blade and the fact that the cable has a connector at the handle end.

I am sure that the shorter bladed AHS 6000 Pro-T is every bit as good. Whichever one you prefer, if you are looking to buy an electric hedge cutter, you cannot go wrong with one of these. Bottom line is, yes, you can buy cheaper, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Go treat yourself.

This machine is about the limit of what one can usefully use as a hand held trimmer. There are real advantages from having the "full strength" 700W motor, the long blade and the wide gap between the teeth. A longer blade and more powerful motor make for quicker cutting - it is as simple as that. True there is a price for the power, namely that arm fatigue becomes an issue sooner that with smaller and less powerful machines. But that is a small price to pay for the the substatial speed gains from using an overall more powerful machine. Balance is excellent. There is a ferocious braking mechanism, which is for user safety.

Delighted with the product.
